Let me introduce you to Helen, an experienced Digital Marketer who booked a personal brand business portrait photo-session in my house photography studio in Brighton, Sussex UK. Helen specialises in social media, email marketing, virtual events and copywriting, and is based in Brighton & Hove.
She runs Seashell Digital, a marketing agency, since 2019 and her website and social media are currently going through a huge rebranding overhaul. I’m extremely pleased to be part of her online visibility journey as her official photographer.

Hero / headline image for home page of the website
This type of image is all about personal brand photography. It's a photo with a purpose.
This photo will become the banner on the home page so it can’t have too much height.
This photo will be the first thing you see when you land on the website hence it need lots of interest along the width, ideally by positioning you on one side of the shot - definitely not centred.
This photo needs to be powerful and very clear so it catches attention and makes the visitor to want to learn more about you.
2. Relaxed informal traditional business portraits / corporate headshots for the “about me” page
Together with Helen we decided that her commercial headshots should captured her big smile and super friendly approachable energy.
We aimed for more informal rather formal business portraits & headshots. For the past 17 years Helen has worked with purpose-led organisations, non-profits, including Human Rights Watch, Hospice UK and Asthma UK, running digital marketing campaigns, events and raising funds to support their work.
We decided on shots that are relaxed, yet professional to match her core clientele.

What props you should incorporate in lifestyle brand portrait photography?
Helen is specialising in digital strategy, social media, email marketing, virtual events and copywriting hence we ensured incorporate digital elements as props during the photoshoot (7 best props guidance and ideas for your brand photo session).
She brought with her laptop, notebooks, phone, a mug, some plants, candles and of course mobile phone.
We have even decided to incorporate another person in the photoshoot to capture 1:1 , client meeting scened.
